Daytona is known for the Daytona Speedway
The Daytona Speedway is a racing track that has its location in Daytona, Florida in the United States. It began operation in 1959 and home to the most remarkable NASCAR race known as the Daytona 500. Apart from Nascar, the tracks hosted are ARCA, Superbike, AMA, USCC, Motorcross, and SCAA. The track is characterized with several configurations which includes a sports car course of about 3.56 miles, a motorcycle course of 2.95miles, a high speed primary Tri oval of 2.5 miles and a Karting of about 1,320 feet (400m) and a flat motorcycle track. The 180 acre track has a 29 acre Lake Lloyd. It has served as a host to a powerboat racing. Also, the international speedway corporation operates and owns the speedway.
